Improv Games As Preparation
Improv acting is based on opening your mind, listening, and saying “yes” to ideas. This workshop uses basic improv exercises to illustrate different, fun, energetic ways that groups can prepare for rehearsals and performances.

Scott Cobban

Scott Cobban is the vocal percussionist for Five O’Clock Shadow and a former member of Overboard. He’s also a graduate of ImprovAsylum’s improv performance program. He’s been involved in a cappella since 2000 when he joined Clark University’s coed group the Clark Bars. Outside of a cappella, he’s a full-time web developer in Boston.

People Are Hard: Best Practices for Managing Your Group
This class will consist of 3 major foci: - Getting Started, aka "This is a Thankless Job" - External Relations - Internal Relations We will talk about university and community relations, leadership roles, auditions, and everything else we can fit into the time limits. Emily is actively interested in answering questions, before and after class. She also thinks you look nice today.

Is graduation making you nervous about what to Aca-do after May? That is no Aca-problem! This class will discuss and navigate some of those pressures and issues moving to post-collegiate a cappella. We’ll also look at advantages and strategies of involvement to community-based and semi-professional a cappella groups in your area.

Ricky Jabarin is currently a Production Engineer for A Cappella Productions (ACP). While in college, Ricky co-founded and directed Penn State University’s award-winning group, The Coda Conduct. His arrangements and coaching has contributed to The Coda Conduct’s advancements in ICCA tournaments. Ricky also serves as the CARAs Administrative Manager for CASA and sings for DC-based CAL group, DolCe.

In her spare time, Archie loves writing her own music, hanging with S#arp, and cuddling with cats and various barn animals.
